T. Lorain Murphy

Our loving mother T. Lorain Murphy went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 30, 2023. She was born on April 29, 1932 to Wilbur and Ollie Pyles in Rio Grande, Ohio, who predeceased her.

She married Gene Conners, and together they raised 7 children. He predeceased her in 1978. She married Bob Murphy in 1980, and he predeceased her in 2000.

Lorain was a homemaker and loved to work in her flower gardens and in her woodworking shop building birdhouses and Nativity scenes as long as she was able. She was a member of Salem Church of God.

She is survived by 2 sons, Vernon (Pam) Conners of New Bloomington, and Raymond (Gerry) Conners of Clarksburg, West Virginia, as well as 2 daughters, Ollie Johnson and Karen Nitz, both of Marion. She is also survived by 2 brothers, Russell (Beryl) Pyles of Marion and Earl Pyles of Kentucky; 1 sister, Rose (Terry) Childers of Phoenix, Arizona; 1 stepdaughter, Carol Murphy; and 19 grandkids, 48 great-grandkids, and 26 great-great-grandkids, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 husbands, her sister Patsy Morgan, her son Mike Conners, her daughters Lora Belcher and Ruby Forman, her granddaughter Jennifer Conners, her grandson Michael Conners, her great-great-grandson Barrett Uresti, and her stepson Bobby Murphy.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023 from 10 am to 12 pm at the Boyd Funeral Home. Services will take place at 12 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Christopher St. John officiating. Burial will follow at Agosta Cemetery.
