Tammy Sue Messenger

Tammy Sue Messenger, age 60 of New Bloomington, passed away unexpectedly on November 10, 2023 at her residence.

Tammy was born on February 10, 1963 to the late John and Sandra (Smith) Lucas in Marion, Ohio.  On March 27, 1986, she married Russell Messenger.

Tammy was a lifelong Marionite.  She loved to bird watch, gardening, her pets, collecting flamingos and Dollar General Penny shopping with her sister.  Also, she enjoyed going camping at the Lake with “The Crew”.  She worked at Smith Cardinal, RHAM, Fulfillment Company, Accusto-Fiber and Motion Industries.

Tammy was preceded in death by her parents, John and Sandy Lucas; her sister, Kimberly Lucas; her sister-in-law, Lisa Messenger.

Those who will cherish Tammy’s memories include her husband, Russell Messenger; her son, Levi (Jackie) Messenger; her granddaughter and “apple of her eye”, Kilynn Messenger; her brother, Tim (Stormy) Lucas; her sister, Wendy (Al) Imbody; her sister-in-law, Andrea (Mark) Casto; her several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins and her lifelong friend, Lois Pinnick.

Friends and family may come to honor Tammy’s life from 4pm to 6pm on Friday, December 8, 2023 at Boyd Funeral Home.  A memorial service will follow starting at 6pm at the funeral home.  The Boyd Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Messenger family.
