Tammy Lynn Sisson, age 61, of Marion, Ohio, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2026, at 11:46 p.m. at Marion General Hospital, following a long and courageous battle with chronic illness. She was surrounded by the love of her family in her final moments.

Born on March 25, 1964, in Marion, Ohio, Tammy was the beloved daughter of Maxine McFarland and Ronald Murphy, and was also lovingly raised by her stepfather, Carl McFarland. She spent her life rooted in Marion, where she was raised and attended Harding High School.

Tammy dedicated a portion of her life to caring for others through her work in home health care, a reflection of her naturally nurturing spirit. In time, she devoted herself fully to her greatest roles—being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family was her world, and she found her greatest joy in caring for and spending time with them.

Known by all who knew her for her kindness and generosity, Tammy truly had a heart of gold. Her home was always open, and she welcomed others with warmth, compassion, and a listening ear. She had a way of making everyone feel like family. Tammy cherished the simple joys in life—fishing trips, camping adventures, and traveling with those she loved most. She held a special love for the ocean, often dreaming of and looking forward to peaceful days at the beach, soaking in its beauty and serenity.

She is survived by her loving mother, Maxine McFarland, and stepfather, Carl McFarland; her devoted husband, David Sisson; her children, JR (Jackie) Crabtree and Jamie Sisson; her siblings, Timmy (Teresa) Murphy, Tina (Nick) McDonald, and Terina Charles; and her cherished grandchildren, Rayanne Redman, Jeremy Crabtree, Kaylee Crabtree, and Liam Sisson. Tammy also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Murphy; her brother-in-law, Brian Charles; her grandparents; and her in-laws, John and Wilma Sisson.

Family and friends are invited to honor Tammy’s life on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Boyd Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with funeral services beginning at 12:00 p.m., officiated by Reverend Joe Lemasters. A graveside service will follow at Fairview Cemetery in LaRue, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made directly to the family to assist during this time.

Tammy’s love, strength, and kindness will live on in all who knew her.
