Thomas Edward Middleton, Sr.

Thomas “Tommy” Edward Middleton Sr., 66, of Marion, Ohio passed away on November 18th, 2025, at Marion General Hospital. He was born on August 10th, 1959, in Marion, Ohio to the late Clarence Wilbur & Clara (Pickens) Middleton. He married Melody Sue Fields February of 1983 in Marion, Ohio. 

Tom graduated from Marion Harding High School. He served in the United States Navy as a Gunners Mate. He spent most of his working years as a laborer at Simcote and eventually landed his dream retirement job at Lee’s Chicken spending mornings cleaning. 

He is preceded in death by his wife Sue, two brothers Douglas & Garry Middleton, his parents, and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is survived by his children Martiquea (Vasiliy) Middleton, Thomas Edward (Carli) Middleton Jr., and Daeveonna Middleton. He is also survived by his partner Audrey Collins, a sister in law Jean Fields, and his grandchildren Saniyah, Tyra, Trey, Carter, Amelia, and Benson. 

Big Tom was the patriarch of his family. He was an ornery, loving, persistent, and caring man whose proudest accomplishment was his family. He will be remembered for his hugs, his charm, and his unmistakable laugh. He had room at the table for anyone who stopped by to visit. He was a wonderful cook who was known for his collard greens and breakfasts. He enjoyed fishing, watching the Cleveland Browns, and supporting his kids’ and grandkids’ activities. His family will miss his loving presence dearly.  

The family invites loved ones to calling hours and a celebration of his life on Sunday November 23rd, at Boyd Funeral Home, 122 W Columbia St. in Marion from 3-5p with a memorial service to follow at 5:00pm. Donations in his honor can be made to the Habitat for Humanity of Ohio.
