Violet Marie Martin

Violet Marie Martin, age 79 of Marion, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at Presidential Post Acute Nursing Home.
Violet was born on April 8, 1944 to the late Esty and Awanda (Runkle) Haycook in Marion, Ohio. 
Violet loved hiking and the San Francisco 49ers, but her passion was to take care of her beloved desert tortoise, Tony. She will truly be missed by everyone who knew her. 
Violet was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Ernestine Cohagan, and Janice Haycook, and brother-in-laws, Russell Pyles and Richard Cohagan.
Those who will cherish her memories include her sisters: Beryl Pyles, Sherry (Roger) Stapleton both of Marion, Ohio. Violet also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. 
Friends and family may come to honor her life from 12pm to 2:00pm on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at Boyd Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow starting at 2:00pm at the funeral home with the Rev. Steven Anderson officiating. A burial will follow the funeral service at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
