Virgil P. Curren, 86, died February 19, 2025, at Marion General Hospital from an aggressive stomach cancer. He was born March 31,1938, to the late Virgil L. Curren and Elizabeth E. (Jones) Curren. He graduated in 1956 from Harding High School where he participated in sports and music and then attended Miami University of Ohio. He was married to Liane Woltmann for 65 years.
He worked for B.F. Goodrich, the Kroger Co. and for 31 years at Anheuser Busch in Worthington. For many of those years he was a Steward for Teamster's Union 284. He enjoyed his retirement years watching and feeding the birds in his backyard, pottering in his greenhouse and flower beds. He cycled for more than 10,000 miles, including three trips across the Mackinaw Bridge. Like all the Curren "boys" he enjoyed cars, especially his Corvettes.
Virg is survived by his wife and much-loved children: Karen Curren (David Narance), Matthew Curren (Kara Morrow), Jeremy Curren (Kim Fetter, friend), grandchildren Chloe Wooster, Jordan Wooster, and Addison Morrow-Curren, sister-in-law Pam Curren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his brother Robert.
