Virginia L. Gibson

     Virginia L. Gibson, age 80, of Marion went to be with her Lord on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at 5:29 PM from the Riverside Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She was born on January 27, 1944 in Weeksbury, Kentucky to the late Crit and Mary (Bentley) Tackett. Virginia was a 1963 graduate of Harding High School and was a past member of the Good Faith Baptist Church. On November 9, 1968 she married Charles E. Gibson in Marion, OH. and he preceded her in death on July 24, 1999. Virginia was last employed as a switchboard operator for 15 years with the Med Center Hospital before her retirement in 1995.

     She is survived by 3 sons, Joe Gibson, Jamie Gibson, & Jeff (Misty) Gibson all of Marion, OH., a sister, Emmalee Robinson of Marion, OH., 4 grandsons, 2 great grandsons, and numerous nieces, nephews, & extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Crit & Mary, husband, Charles, 3 brothers, Estil, Edgar, & Bobby Tackett, and a sister, Rosalee Woods.

     Friends may call at the Boyd Funeral Home on Thursday, February 8, 2024, from 12 Noon until 1:00 PM. A graveside service will be held following the visitation at 1:30 PM in the Grand Prairie Cemetery. Rev. Barkley Slone will be officiating.
