Virginia "Ginny" Ellen Lee

Virginia “Ginny” Ellen Lee, age 95 of Marion, retired owner of the Sunset Inn in New Bloomington passed away on Friday, May 7, 2021 at Marion General Hospital.

Virginia was born on March 21, 1926 to the late Donald and Evas (Jenkins) Johnson in Marion, Ohio.

Virginia loved her family and would do anything for them. She took pride in caring for many family members who passed before her. While she may have seemed to have a quiet personality to most, she was highly outspoken to those closest to her. She enjoyed and excelled at cooking and baking anything and everything. Also, she enjoyed other hobbies including various needlework, gardening and mushroom hunting. She will be missed by family and friends.

Virginia is preceded in death by her parents; her four brothers: Howard “Bud” Johnson, Donald Johnson, James Johnson and Allen “Dewroy” Johnson; her sister: Mabel Ulery and her two sons: Stanley (Carole) Hook and Larry (Sue) Hook.

Those who will cherish her memories include her two children: Terry (Pam) Hook and Brenda Hook; her brother: Gary Johnson; her ten grandchildren: Scott (Billie) Hook, John Bombatch, Steven (Tina) Hook, Mark (Colleen) Bombach, Stacy (Carla) Hook, Terry (Tricia) Hook, Sherri (Randy) King, Heidi Hook, Kelley (Eric) Wylie and Jane Hook; and multiple great, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Friends and family may come to honor her life on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 from 4pm to 6pm at the Boyd Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 starting at 11am at the funeral home. Burial will follow service at the Price cemetery. Donations may be given in her memory to the Ohio Health Hospice of Marion. The Boyd Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Hook family.
