Vivian Kathleen Edwards, age 84 of Marion, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Embassy of Marion.
Kathleen was born on November 3, 1937 to the late Wallace Bailey and Ethel (Crace) Joseph in Salyersville, Kentucky. On December 13, 1952, she married Carnie “Chilly” D. Edwards in Ashley, Ohio.
Kathleen was a lifelong member of the Fairpark Community Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and belonged to the Women’s Mission. She was a nurse’s aide at Marion General Hospital for 10 years. For 20 years, she worked as a nurse for Dr. Michael Hayes. Kathleen loved to garden, and she could cook anything. She was a Player Agent for 19 years for Marion Baseball for Boys that later became Marion Baseball for Youth. She was a big Ohio State Buckeye fan. Kathleen loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much and always loved visiting with them and having special treats for them on special holidays. Kathleen will be truly missed by family and friends.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her mother, Ethel (Farish) Joseph; her father, Wallace Bailey and a sister, Martha Jaggers.
Those who will cherish her memories include her husband, Carnie “Chilly” D. Edwards of Marion, Ohio; her children: Brenda Hartley of Marion, Ohio, Michael (Marsha) Edwards of Grove City, Ohio and David (Debra) Edwards of Marion, Ohio; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren .
The family would like to thank Embassy of Marion for their outstanding care and support during a most difficult time and especially Nurses Rhonda, Deb and Linda. The family would also like to thank Tranquility Hospice for their support, guidance and kindness.
Friends and family may come to honor Kathleen’s life on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 from 4pm to 7pm at the Fairpark Community Baptist Church, 940 Bermuda Drive, Marion, Ohio 43302. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2022 starting at 10am at the church. Donations may be given in Kathleen’s memory to the Fairpark Community Baptist Church. The Boyd Funeral Home is honored to be helping the Edwards family.
