William D. Jones Jr.

     William D. Jones Jr., age 68, of Marion passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2021, in the Marion General Hospital. He was born on December 20, 1952 in Marion, Ohio to the late William E. and Lucille (Sienkiewicz) Jones Sr. In 1976 he married the  former Jeannine Dunn in Marion and she preceded him in death in 2015. William was an accomplished musician, playing with several bands in the Marion area. He was a devoted Christian and an avid OSU Buckeye fan. He was employed with the Whirlpool Corp. for over 25 years before his retirement.

     Surviving are a son; William (Karen) Bond of Rocky Top, TN., 2 daughters; Denise Hoffman of Marion, OH. & Karen (Jose’) Lavoy of Tempe, AZ., 2 sisters; Caroline Sue (Joseph) Beckford of Springdale, AK. & Jacqueline (Alfredo) Moran of Miami, FL., 2 brothers; Thomas (Debbie) Jones of Sugar Land, TX. & Michael (Tracie) Jones of Dover, FL., 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

     A private family funeral service will be held in the Boyd Funeral Home on Sunday, January 10, 2021, at 10:00 AM conducted by Rev. Ron Sanderson. This service will be able to be viewed on our face book page at Boyd-Born Funeral Home. No visiting hours will be observed. A public graveside committal service will be held in the Marion Cemetery on Monday, January 11th, at 10:30 AM. All are welcome. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:15 AM. Monday. Contributions in William’s name may be made to the American Kidney Foundation.
