William C. Pfeiffer

William C. Pfeiffer, age 81 of Marion, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022 at Select Specialty Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

William “Bill” was born on August 17, 1940 to the late Laverne and Janice (Zachman) Pfeiffer in  Marion, Ohio.  William “Bill” graduated from Marion Harding High School, and on June 16, 1962, he married his high school sweetheart Sharon L. Riebel in Marion, Ohio. They celebrated 52 years of marriage before she preceded him in death in 2014.

He was a lifetime resident of Marion, Ohio and a Florida snowbird since 2002.  William “Bill” served with the National Guard and worked at National City Bank, including Branch Manager of the Green Camp branch, and then as Vice President in Marion before retiring. After retiring, he purchased a Marathon Petroleum Distributorship, aka Pfeiffer Marathon Oil, which he operated for the next 20 years. Through the 70's and 80's, William "Bill" was actively involved with the Ridgedale Lions Club and always was supportive of the Ridgedale local schools. He loved being outdoors.  In his younger days, he would snowmobile and hunt in Clarion, Pennsylvania, Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and fishing in Canada.  After 2002, he would spend his summers in East Harbor and his winters in Florida, fishing.  Everyone who knew William “Bill” knows that he was an avid dog lover with three of his best “furry” friends, Bud, Gypsy and Gabe

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Sharon L. Pfeiffer, his grandson, Hudson Campbell and his brother, Roger Pfeiffer.

Those who will cherish his memories include his children: Jennifer (Chuck) Campbell of Marion, Ohio, John W. Pfeiffer of Marion, Ohio and James M. (Heather) Pfeiffer of Marion, Ohio; his grandchildren: Andrew M. and Dustin M. Pfeiffer, Xander, Zuri and Marissa Campbell and some great grandchildren.

Friends and family may come to honor William “Bill’s” life on Monday, June 6, 2022 from 5pm to 7pm at the Boyd Funeral Home in Marion, Ohio and on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 from 11am to 1pm at the Grace Baptist Church, 1560 Marion-Marysville Rd, Marion, Ohio.  A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 starting at 1pm at the church.  Burial will follow service at the Marion Cemetery.  Donations may be given in William “Bill’s” memory to Marion County Sheriff or Marion Cemetery.  The Boyd Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Pfeiffer family.
