Worley Donald Jacks of the United States Army served in Company L, 232d Infantry Regiment, 42d Infantry Division was wounded and declared missing in action on March 7, 1945, in Lichtenberg, France. On June 21, 2022, his remains were identified, and he is now returning home to be laid to rest by his family.
Worley was born on April 10, 1923, in Langsville, Ohio, to the late Richard Robert and Garnet Avanell (Kennedy) Jacks, and he later married his wife, Lillie Mary Foley.
He is survived by his sons Richard Jacks and Virgil (Shelly) Jacks; his daughter Worletta Jacks-Eckard; his sister Marvel (Floyd) Jacks-Lane; and six grandchildren. Three grandchildren have passed, as well as his parents and wife.
Family and friends may call on Saturday, October 8, 2022 from 10 am to 11:00 am at the Boyd Funeral Home. Services will take place at 11:00 am at the funeral home with burial to follow at Grand Prairie Cemetery with Military Honors. The Boyd Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Jacks family.
